Originally, these carpets were woven as a pair (two pieces) in the late 19th century by Mohtasham in Kashan. One of them is preserved and displayed at the Mashhad Carpet Museum in the Imam Reza complex in northern Iran, while the other is in my collection. This pair of carpets is extremely rare—an antique Persian masterpiece—with no price tag attached.

Antique Persian carpet in museum
1- a pair of Mohtasham kashan one in Mashhad Carpet Museum and one in my stock
Mohtasham was a very famous carpet weaver in Kashan, Iran, in the late 19th century. Only a few pieces of his work have survived to this day.
This pair of carpets was woven by Mohtasham on commission from a Kashani businessman named Haj Mandeh Ali Agha Kashani. One of the carpets is preserved in the Mashhad Carpet Museum, located in the Imam Reza complex, where two videos of it are available for viewing. The other carpet is in my collection, and a video of it can also be provided.
Both carpets are identical in size (300 x 200 cm), design, quality, and bear the same signature.
